[After Charles hung up on Khan, she might feel a tentative brush of his mind, rather like a light knock on a door before the words came.]
Ororo, I apologize for the intrusion and you quite possibly know this before I say a word but ... be cautious with this Khan. I suspect he knows many of the answers to these questions he is posing to us.
Telepathy -- Charles, you're so good about knowing the best time to braincreep <3
[Ororo jumps at the contact but, in a way, it's reassuring? Xavier back home spends pretty much every waking hour sending some telepathic text or another and that's been lacking in her life. She doesn't close off or anything (not that she knows how) and instead phrases a reply in her thoughts that she figures he'll pick up on.]
Yeah. I figure I can trust him about as far as I could throw Piotr. This guy gives me a serious case of the creeps, Professor.
[The younger version is used to more silent brain creeping, though he's starting to get a real feel for actually using it for two way communication!
This could wind up shooting him in the foot in a few weeks.
For now, he carefully picks up her reply, doing his level best not to wander in his creeping.]
I agree, Ororo there was an arrogant recklessness in his approach that, well quite honestly reminds me of Erik. At the same time, it was Erik's words that gave me caution, he was always concerned about reckless identification."
Yeah. Serious Magneto-vibes. [She's not so good at calling him Erik, though she's heard her Professor say the name before.] So what's the plan? You think we should give him the ol' X-Men warning not to mess with the crew?
Do you believe it would have any impact? I sincerely doubt it would make much of an impression on this man and it would instead give him more information about us.
How many people do you know are so well informed about their situation upon first arrival, Ororo? Most are thrown, at least at first. This man not only had the presence of mind to keep a level head but the first thing he did was extensive homework.
How much information is out there about this threat we face? This man did some very, detailed digging and he zeroed in on the pertinent facts, very quickly.
I don't know about you but I am not sure I appreciate having to play catch up. Can you tell if he has any friends or ... world mates?
I bet there's some rule against you just plucking that out of his head, huh?
[There's a flurry of thoughts; frustration at this new threat being the forefront of it. Mainly, she's trying to find some way to handle it that doesn't involve some serious shock therapy.]
I don't like it. No, I hate it. This sucks!
I couldn't tell who he knows. There was more to his post, but I couldn't load it. Maybe he's got buddies here or maybe he's trying to mess with us.
Technically speaking, there are no set rules against my looking into his thoughts, beyond whether or not he is capable of either shielding against psychic intrusion or trained to recognize such.
[In which case, if Charles made the attempt and Khan picked up what he was attempting to do, well ... they wouldn't really lose anything, it would mean Charles was useless against him anyway.]
I suppose it wouldn't lose us anything, were I to try?
[ooc: Except I don't have a comment on my permission post from Khan, so I usually treat anyone who doesn't comment as 'hands off' :/]
[The explanation gives her pause. Ororo's no pro at telepathy, being purely a meteorological manipulater, but she's picked up a couple things here and there, mainly that telepathy can go both ways.]
Hold on, Professor. What happens if he's got some sort of brain Death Star defense?
[Because she doesn't want him going comatose because of Khan-neto over here.]
[Her thoughts run the gamut of confusion for a second, three or four Star Wars references crossing her mind before she remembers that he's pre-Hippy and pre-StarAnything.]
It means I'm worried he's got an ace up his sleeve -- brain, I guess -- that'd lay you out like a popped paper bag.
[And that's an honest feeling of concern there. Don't tell anyone.]
Telepathy? - Feel free to say no, he doesn't get through. :>

My kingdom for his diary.

[He's going to be distracted from any attempts on brains by that reference. It's going to be a decade or so yet before those movies come out.
And don't worry Ororo ... he'll be going comatose for other bad life decisions.]
